About us

Well now, I could probably write a whole book on who we are and how Loops and I first met, and in fact, there’s probably a number of my family and friends who would love me to do so.
But for those of you who are new to us, let me give you the short version….

I’m Button and I’m British. One day, after feeling quite sorry for myself for some time (with very little good reason I will admit), I decided to go for a long stroll in the woods, 4,000 miles away from home and for about 8 months.
My family were quite aghast.

It was while I was contemplating life in the woods, and trying not to be scared of snakes and bears (I no longer am, by the way. Well, maybe still snakes a bit), I happened to stumble into Loops.

Loops is American. And he has the ability to correctly hang a bear bag in a tree.
I do not.
In fact, I rather idiotically broke his bear line while trying to hang mine.
Strangely he didn’t get angry with me. Or upset. Instead he became my hiking buddy.
The next day we hiked out of camp together, and didn’t leave each other’s side for the next 7 months. If you are really that interested in our adventure, you can read about it here: http://www.postholer.com/button

Four years, and rather a lot of trans-Atlantic flights later, I’ve decided to make the move to the USA (temporarily/permanent – yet to be confirmed).
Loops and I will be on the move once again – this time in an RV, to see what we can see and hopefully this time I won’t break anything….

Button – likes tea and biscuits, any sugar based food group and walking around the British countryside. Can read a book continuously in one sitting for 15 hours. Loves to hug huskies. Loves Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Harry Potter on a scale directly proportional to how much Loops hates them. Is very much determined to see the big mountains on the West coast.

Loops – has a mastery of all things electronic and technology related, and the ability to fix, or find a solution to, almost any problem put before him. Likes night-time snacks. Doesn’t like having his photo taken. Likes home comforts directly proportional to Button loving the outdoors. Loves to hug huskies, but only when he thinks no-one is watching.

    1. Hi Mavis, thanks very much 🙂
I will be sure to keep posting updates – it will become a lot more interesting once we get on the road and visit some places other than the storage shed!

Hi. Nice videos. Are you America &British ? Noticed in one of your videos you say you were not born in England. Not many Brits can travel to the states and back without a full-time job. You are very lucky. Plus you can work in the states. Good luck on your travels.

    1. Thanks for stopping by to say hello, we’re glad you like the videos 🙂
You are correct, I am lucky enough to be a dual citizen, born in the US and raised in the UK – but England is definitely home!
Travelling back and forth is not easy by any stretch, it’s hard to live in two worlds, but yes I am grateful to have the option to work in both countries.
Thanks again for reading and watching.

I have so enjoyed your AT blog and your RV blog. I hope you and Loops are well – and wherever you are, that you are happy and having adventures.
