Freedom and Frolicking with Friends

Bleh.

Bleh and meh.

That’s slightly how I feel today. And you know what it is? Laziness. Yes, laziness has set in.

This is what happens as you approach the one year anniversary of not working and let your 37th birthday just slide on by. You suddenly realise how goddamn lazy you feel and it gets to you. And the slightly annoying thing is that it’s not like I’m letting life pass me by sitting on the sofa watching TV all day and drinking tea or anything. Though admittedly I do drink a fair amount of tea these days, and with the saga of the vanilla flavoured soy milk weighing on my mind, well that in itself is a whole other worrying scenario.

Right, well, I’m not quite sure where all that came from, but let’s get caught up to speed shall we?

The ups and downs of ‘living the life’

With our social engagements in Tennessee finally concluded (UK friends, bus barn friends, family passing through), it’s time to resume our journey north, mostly for the simple reason that the south in June is too oppressively hot for this fair-weather Brit.

That’s right, for me stepping out of my door and having a wall of humid heat practically knock me off my feet is not my idea of fun. Nashville here we come…and now we’ve gone (Part Two)

Another disturbance tonight, although this one from nature, a thunderstorm – our first in the bus!
I feel all safe and snug and happy as I hear the storm roll through, the rain pattering outside. It’s only when we rise in the morning and are about 5 minutes from getting underway that I hear Loops curse from the front, standing near my seat with a roll of paper towels in hand. It seems we have our first water leak.

The shakedown camping trip

In a slightly unexpected turn of events last week, the day after my moaning blog about not going anywhere, Loops miraculously announced that Belle was ready to go on our final shakedown camping trip – 5 days out and about on the road to test how she would hold up full time. Cue *party dance*

Fuelled by my excitement I blithely offered to go to the supermarket to stock up on food, something I regretted after an hour and a half of wandering the aisles. However, the good news is my first grocery trip took over two hours, so I’m obviously getting better at the shopping…slightly annoying news, I’ve discovered I’m not quite sure where to store the potatoes in the RV.
