Dinosaurs (but not), PCT and the Ocean

So, we meet again.

I have much to say in some ways, and very little in others. But let me just start straight away by telling you that I am currently sat typing this at the dining room table of my best friend, AJ, while listening to and watching the rain hammer down outside the window next to me.

Everything is lush and green and full of life, and despite the current downpour, I can clearly see warm sunlight on the horizon over yonder, which will be sure to reach us soon. I am at present fully enjoying England in a season I haven’t seen here in some time – summer.

To Blog or Not to blog…?

NB. This is a post specifically about writing and the writing process, not our RV travels. If you’re not interested in that, please feel free to skip over.

I am currently faced with a dilemma. And guess what? You’re about to hear about it.

It is now the second week of February and Loops and I are, once again, back on the road. In fact we’ve been travelling full time again since the first of February. And yet, I have not produced any blog entries about it.

Why? Well, it’s because I am struggling with the title question – to blog, or not to blog?

Yes, sometimes my blogging office looks like this.

A Confession…and our final miles

Ok, so without making you ‘um’ and ‘ah’ over what my confession *shock horror* might be, here it is…
I sucked at blogging this trip.

And I say this simply because today is the 25th January 2017 and the events that I have been recently writing about, and will be hopefully finishing up today, actually took place back in mid-October 2016.
Yes, that’s right; I have completely crap time management skills when it comes to blogging while travelling. And for this I apologise. Profusely. Sorry.

Forge, Family and Fighter Jets!

I have a memory, over 25 years old now, of a cold winter’s evening in the passenger seat with my dad driving and looking at a festival of lights, candles, lining the roads around Valley Forge Historical Park. Not that I can specifically remember when or why we were at the park, but I remember the candles, the cold and my dad.

It is in the spirit of this memory that we visit Valley Forge today, but find that maybe my memory isn’t quite as good as I thought…

Time to be a Tourist

Needless to say, despite our beautiful surroundings at Cumberland Lake, we were slightly soured on the place by our unexpected stranding and rescue in the wee hours of the morning. Rather than a lovely two day stay, it was reduced to just one, most of which was just recovering from the exhaustion and stress of the previous day. Therefore it left an even more bitter taste in our mouths when Loops asked the campground host if she would consider refunding one day of our stay and she refused; despite the fact it was on her assurance we had driven Belle into the park in the first place.

Nashville here we come…and now we’ve gone (Part Two)

Another disturbance tonight, although this one from nature, a thunderstorm – our first in the bus!
I feel all safe and snug and happy as I hear the storm roll through, the rain pattering outside. It’s only when we rise in the morning and are about 5 minutes from getting underway that I hear Loops curse from the front, standing near my seat with a roll of paper towels in hand. It seems we have our first water leak.

Nashville here we come…and now we’ve gone (Part One)

Doesn’t time just fly by these days?

The last time you and I met, Loops and I were making our way north through Florida in much haste for a rendezvous in Nashville, Tennessee. Well, I can tell you we made it. In fact, since the last time I wrote, three other states have welcomed us over their lines, even if for a brief while.
